The Visitor Information Centre has been with the Ten Dollar Town Motel for the past twelve months and although Di and Trevor created a very interesting experience for the traveller the parking in Mayne Street is becoming a huge problem with so many RV's and caravans trying to get up Mayne Street let alone park there.
The new visitor centre offers plenty of parking out the front of the complex and will become even better when the restoration of the Miner's Cottage is completed. Mid-West Regional Council have allocated $30,000 dollars for the restoration of the cottage with preliminary investigation on the work needed taking place now.
When the visitor centre moves to the cottage the parking and access will be even better with the new bus and visitor parking almost completed opposite the cottage. It is only the bay lines to be drawn and it will be ready for use.

FIRST VISITORS TO THE NEW COMMERCIAL
The first visitors have spent the night at the new Commercial Accommodation. Although the main renovation is still to be undertaken the eleven rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and at $55 per night is true value. Rowena Ellis, owner of the Commercial said "It is all so very exciting. The one thing lacking for the tourists and visitors to Gulgong is accommodation."
"At the moment we are offering the rooms at this very cheap rate but once the renovations are completed and the rooms have all the latest equipment, of course the rates will increase. We will still possibly have a couple of rooms we might leave and offer at a lower price." She said.
The Commercial being right in the centre of town will be perfect for the visitor as they will have access to everything in town within walking distance of their accommodation.
