The fundraising is already underway and a charity golf day is on this Sunday [SEE BELOW].
After changing things up with last year's one-way trip from Queensland, 2019 will once again see more of a loop - starting at a local village and heading to Mudgee via a significant detour.
On October 13, the ride will leave Lue, heading north to Gunnedah and onto Moree, before crossing through Armidale to the coast at Coffs Harbour, then returning south to Forster and back inland through Denman and home to Mudgee on the 19th.
"It's a bush and coastal run added together," organiser, Jason Turner, said.
"This is our biggest one for riders, donations are coming in and we're on track for another good year."
In 2018 the Late Mail hit the highest fundraising amount of its five year history, raising $200,200 for Wings4Kidz. The charity provides free transport for kids from rural and regional NSW to vital medical treatment - saving families time, money and the stress from being away from home.
This year they've set the goal at $150,000.
Jason acknowledges that fundraising in the current climate will be difficult, but it's now that their beneficiary's role is more important than ever. Because if farming families are struggling, having to up and take a child to treatment for a serious condition just compounds an already bad situation.
"The rural areas have the farmers that can't get away from the land easily, especially in drought conditions," he said.
"And that's where Wings4Kidz helps families in those situations, where it's difficult to take three and four days away."
Wings4Kidz runs purely on donations, 100 per cent of which go toward their flight service. For more information on the Late Mail Postie Bike Ride visit latemailride.com.au/ and donate at give.everydayhero.com/au/the-late-mail-postie-bike-ride-2019-1
