The collection of a former railway worker who established a museum at Glen Davis will go under the auctioneer's hammer at Mudgee on Saturday, November 2.

John Simpson worked with the railways for 39 years, mainly on the Lithgow-Blue Mountains line.
He also spent time between Emu Plains and Eugowra and established a large collection of railway memorabilia.
He and his wife Laraine retired to a small farm at Glen Davis where John established a museum.
His collection involves early railway signs, lamps, station telephones, railway books, uniforms, trolleys, even watches and an eclectic collection of oil tins, weighing scales and numerous other railway collectables.
Auctioneers, The Property Shop at Mudgee, will be conducting the auction in their rooms at Mudgee.
"It was an amazing sight when Mrs Simpson opened the doors to the museum to show us the collection," Principal Andrew Palmer said.
"We didn't know where to look first."
A second auction will be conducted in early 2020 to dispose of the rest of the museum collectibles.
The collection includes a vast collection of railway memorabilia including railway signs and uniforms, lamps and tools, early telephones, signs, fuel and oil containers.
Viewings will be held on Friday, November 1 from 4.30pm to 6pm and again on Saturday, November 2 from 9am. The auction begins at 10am.
