The NSW Rural Fire Service's 'Fires near me' online tool is reporting that there is currently an under control fire burning in the area of Spring Flat Road in Mudgee.

Per the website's information, there is no alert level attached and the fire is likely to be extinguished soon. We will update the story as more information comes.
An 'Extreme' Fire Danger Rating has been issued today, November 12 for the Cudgegong Rural Fire Service District, which covers the Mid-Western Regional Council area, on top of the statewide total fire ban has already been declared for all areas of NSW.
Dangerous fire conditions are forecast, with the local predicted to hit temperatures in the mid-30s to be accompanied by strong winds.
A STATE of emergency has been declared in NSW ahead of catastrophic bushfire danger risk. A total fire ban is currently in place.
