As this calendar year draws to a close, the Mudgee Hospital Redevelopment project is moving towards completion in 2020, according to member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders who toured the site on Wednesday.

Work on the new facility began in March, following the demolition of the former Community Health building on the corner of Church and Meares streets.
Inside the building work has been progressing with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical services works underway, as well as internal wall framing and plasterboard installation.
"It's fantastic to see what is a remarkable building here at Mudgee as we're seeing a bit more revealed and we've been through a great walk-through," Mr Saunders said.
"Around $70 million in investment here from the State Government, which by mid next year will be a reality for the Mudgee community.
"It was really nice to get an update, I think everyone has enjoyed seeing that this project is moving along. We've seen a number of different rooms and areas, and the feeling of this hospital will be so different to the current Mudgee Hospital.
"So I'm really impressed with where things are up to and look forward to seeing it progress even further."
The MP added that early next year the public will get an even better look at what the finished project will look like, when the facade will be visible.
"This is an exciting project for Mudgee and the surrounding region, and over the coming months the scaffolding will start to come down and reveal the exterior of the new hospital," Mr Saunders said.
"Every time I come here more work has been done and it is wonderful to see this coming together because it will be something that services a growing part of the Dubbo electorate.
"Among some of the features of the facility will be an emergency department, a general medical and surgery unit, a peri-operative service, a maternity unit, renal dialysis, oncology, a dental clinic and for the first time, a CT scanner."
A working group has also been looking into arts for the new hospital, using feedback received from earlier consultation with the community.
