Michael Brennan was flown to Westmead Hospital following Saturday's accident. Late Sunday he had not yet regained consciousness.
His mother Lou White, his father Ben Brennan, Ben's wife Melissa, and Michael's siblings are all by his side.
Ms White said while her son hadn't regained consciousness, he did seem responsive to their voices on Sunday.
She said her son, who went straight into emergency surgery on Saturday night after being flown to Sydney, had a CT scan on his brain on Sunday afternoon and, while it's very early days, the family are praying for the best.
Emergency services were called to the crash scene, a private property on Kellys Road, Fitzgeralds Mount, between Bathurst and Blayney, just after 6.30pm.
Paramedics treated Mr Brennan on the ground for over an hour to stabilise him, before he was airlifted in the rescue helicopter, which had landed on site.
... they've all done an incredible job helping Michael; it could have been a lot worse.

Police, who also responded as part of emergency services, said Mr Brennan was injured after losing control of his dirt bike and hitting the ground.
His mother said he got the bike about two months ago: "He's only just bought the bike. He's still paying it off," she said.
He was with friends at the time who immediately called triple-0, while rendering whatever first-aid they could.
Ms White thanked her son's friends who were with him, and all emergency services who responded to the scene.
"The paramedics worked on him for an hour before they could transfer him," she said.
"They were amazing. So were his friends - they've all done an incredible job helping Michael; it could have been a lot worse."
One of Mr Brennan's friends, Jake West, has started a Go Fund Me page to help support Mr Brennan through his recovery.
Ms White thanked Mr West and other friends for organising the fundraiser.
"The boys set it up for Michael. He's going to be off work for a fair while," she said.
"They are stuck in Orange and wanted to do something to help him. We really appreciate it."
For people wanting to donate, go to Go Fund Me, Raising Funds for Michael Brennan.
Mr West called on the community to help "raise funds to pay for bills, accommodation and costs for Michael".
