Sean Frederick Heanes of Dowsetts Lane, Hobbys Yards, was fined $440 and disqualified for two months which will be followed by a 12-month interlock period.
At about 1.15pm on Friday, November 15, 2019, police were patrolling Nanima Crescent, Wellington, when they saw the 51-year-old driving without a seat belt.
When they stopped him they conducted a roadside breath test, which was positive to alcohol, and he was taken to Wellington Police Station where a breath analysis of 0.089 was recorded.
Heanes admitted that he'd been drinking beers of varying sizes at a residence in Mudgee, between 9.30am and 12.30pm that day.
Officers noted that he smelt of alcohol and appeared to be moderately affected, because his eyes were red and glazed and his speech was slurred at times.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge of 'Drive with middle range Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol (PCA)', when he represented himself in Mudgee Local Court on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.
