Sharan McCarthy from Mudgee was not alone in her grief hearing the news of the murder of the Brisbane mother, a shocking case of domestic violence that reignited the overdue national conversation around spouse and intimate partner violence.
Sharan knew she wanted to do something, then she discovered the March4Hannah started by Melbourne woman, Emily Millward and thought Mudgee should be a part of it.
In fact, Mudgee is the only regional town taking part.
I think a lot of people were horrified about the intent behind [the murder]." Sharan said.

"I know as a mother and grandmother how much... I cried when I heard it and a lot of people said the same thing. And then - I was thinking 'what can I do?, what can I do?' and Emily started this March For Hannah on the fourth of March, which will mark two weeks from the day her and her children were murdered. That's when I knew we had to take part too.
"We are a little town but we've got a big heart."
The peaceful march will begin at Club Mudgee, turn left at Church Street then along Market Street before ending at Robertson Park where Sharan has organised speakers to talk about domestic violence support.
The march will not close any roads.
Depending on the weather, if it isn't raining the march will either start at the green at the rear of Club Mudgee. If it is raining, marchers will meet across the road on Mortimer Street.
