The woman was travelling to Adelaide from Mudgee via Sydney when they called a Silver Service taxi to get to the Sydney Airport.
"Not sure if your newspaper is interesting in a small "newsflash" relative to an expensive ladies hat left in a Sydney Silver Service Taxi on Friday morning, March 6, 2020," they wrote.
"The Lady was travelling from Mudgee to Adelaide via Sydney. She caught my taxi and I took her to the Domestic Airport Sydney.
"Some hours after her departure I discovered her Stanton hat in the back of my Taxi. I do not know how long the lady is staying in Adelaide but thought you may like to put an item in your newspaper...and the lady may read the article.
"It would be most gratifying to me to be able to return the hat to the correct owner.....all passengers can contact the base of the taxi company IF they know what taxi they had hired."
If you're the owner of the hat or happen to know them, get in the taxi driver asks that you get in touch with the Mudgee Guardian to let him and organise it to be posted and returned back to its original owner.
