In late 2019, the Gulgong Bowling Club re-introduced it's Mixed Pairs Championships. Due to other commitments and overhauls to the club's greens, the competition was finally decided on the 28th February with Colin and Cheryl Ferguson running out narrow winners over a determined father and daughter team Darrin and Alyssa Elbourn.

The 18 end fixture saw the Elbourns led for most of the match until the Fergusons rallied to nudge ahead in the final end to win 18-17. Cheryl, who has only been bowling for less than two years, could not contain her excitement and is now looking forward to playing in the pennant competition.
The competition proved very popular, with over twelve couples entering the championship. It should prove to be a permanent fixture on Gulgong's championship calendar.
