The Mudgee RSL Sub-Branch were successful in gaining funds as part of the Yancoal/Moolarben Coal's Community Support Program to replace the plaques as the names and information began to fade, having not been maintained since they were initially installed.
"The clock and plaques were installed by well known local identity, Mr Ivan Adams and it was thought as they become difficult to read, they should be refurbished to make the public aware of their importance at the time of their instalment and their ongoing significance," Mudgee RSL Sub-Branch president, Geoff Robinson said.
Any project from an RSL point of view that brings to the attention of the public the sacrifice of service men and women is well worth supporting.

"The public can now view the names of those who served and died in World War II as it was intended when the plaques were first installed."
Moolarben Coal Environment Community Coordinator, Matthew Croake said the reasoning behind the branch's successful application had a lot to do with the overall benefit their project would provide to the wider community.
"It's a worthy cause that reflects our rich history in the area," he said.
"Yes, it is a small community group, but it does benefit the wider Mudgee community by the recognition of servicemen and women in this particular case.
By having our Community Grants Program, we try to make a difference in the communities we live and operate in.

The restoration was undertaken by Kerry Roberts.
"The RSL Sub-Branch members were extremely pleased that the application was successful and deeply appreciated the fact that Yancoal/Moolarben considered the project worthy of the funding as part of their community grants assistance," Robinson said.
"A big thank you to local restorer Kerry Roberts for the great job he did in quick time ready for Anzac Day, and of course Yancoal/Moolarben including Mathew Croake for their involvement in the project."
The Mudgee RSL Sub Branch hope to apply for further grants to finish the work started.
