Small businesses in the Mid-Western Region Local Government Area are now eligible for $10,000 bushfire grants, announced today.

Federal Member for Calare, Andrew Gee, witnessed first-hand the hardship these communities faced during the worst bushfire season Australia has seen. And said " justice has been done" now the local region, along with Oberon, have been included in the roll-out.
"The communities of the Mid-Western and Oberon local council areas were at the frontlines of those blazes and it was outrageous that they were originally excluded from this grants program," he said.
"We were never going to let that slide. It was unfair, wrong, and needed to be fixed.
"I'm really pleased that local community action has meant that together, we've been able to right this wrong. Justice has been done.
"These grants will deliver welcome assistance to help businesses cover the costs associated with recovery following the fires. Amid this COVID-19 emergency, it's easy to forget that we have communities still reeling from the fires.
"These grants are an important step in the bushfire recovery process.
"I'd like to thank everyone who sent us a submission to help change this policy - including local business people, business chambers, local councils and also Regional Development Australia Central West."
The $10,000 bushfire recovery grants are funded by the Australian Government with assistance from the NSW Government.
The Lithgow LGA had already been included in the initial roll-out of the program.
