On March 22, 2020 Mudgee Martial Arts had made the decision with 'heavy hearts' to temporarily close the dojo amid the coronavirus pandemic, and some months on, they're finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

On July 6, the doors will finally reopen with teens and adult classes starting on Monday and Wednesday night sessions only.

The Little Ninja's, and infants and primary classes will resume on July 20 until September 23, inline with NSW school term three dates.

After four months of uncertainty, Shihan Geoff Spice says the dojo is doing everything they can to maintain the interest of the sport during the continuously difficult time.

"There will be restrictions on class numbers and at this stage, we won't be able to take on new students until we can accommodate all our current students unfortunately," he said.

"It will have to be a first in best dressed approach as the club reopens. We will endeavour to do our best to work with the needs of our members, but we are governed by the restriction at this point in time."

While some restrictions will be in place that will see some of what the sport entails crossed off the list, at this stage such as contact and sparring, Spice says there's still plenty that can be done, such as drills, fitness, kata, basics and weaponry.

"If we're allowed to do pad work then we'll definitely do that as well to keep our strength and power " Spice said.

"We've missed training immensely just as much as our students have. Hopefully we could possibly see the lifting of restrictions even further before we commence term three," Spice said.

"We will keep our fingers crossed."
