Emergency services responded to the crash five kilometres east of the Old Orange Road just before 4pm.
Police have been told a Honda Civic was travelling west when it veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
Traffic was affected in both directions and the Crash Investigation Unit is looking into the circumstances of the incident.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
