Currently, Council is proposing to move the park closer to the suspension bridge.
Council says that the new site will accommodate a larger facility with additional features as well as providing easier access to the popular riverside walking path.
Council also said they're in consultation with some key stakeholders, concept plans have been drafted for the new park which includes combined, smaller paws and large paws sections, 'Air-lock' style entrance/exit gates, landscaping, including shade trees, sensory areas for dogs and irrigated turf, drinking stations for both dogs and people, user seating, shade shelter, bins (including dog waste bags) and car parking.
The full plan is available to view on YourSay Mid-Western, where you can provide feedback.
Council is also hosting an on-site meeting to discuss the proposal with dog park users at the Glen Willow main carpark (directly adjacent to the stadium) at 4pm Wednesday 9 September.
The on-site meeting to discuss the proposal is being delivered in accordance with COVID-19 health orders and may be subject to change should those orders be revised. If you are attending, please abide by physical distancing measures.
General Manager, Brad Cam said the park's relocation is part of the Glen Willow Master Plan and Stage 2 development.
"The relocation essentially means more space and better facilities for dogs and their owners," Mr Cam said.
"We know Mudgee Off-Leash Dog Park is well patronized and I encourage users to go online and provide their feedback to the concept plan to ensure we create a facility that delivers on user needs."
