A man has died while canyoning in the Wollemi National Park in the Greater Blue Mountains yesterday, September 2.

Police were informed the 65-year-old was abseiling down a canyon in the Wolgan Valley, about 30km from Lithgow, when he fell onto rocks below around 2.30pm.
Emergency services were notified while friends gave the man CPR and first aid.
NSW Police Rescue, the Special Operations Team from NSW Ambulance and the Toll Rescue Helicopter attended.
Despite efforts to revive the man, he died at the scene.
His body is to be recovered from the location today (Thursday, September 3) and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
