According to Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders, the NSW Government has committed $1.2 million in funding to widen the road and provide safer journeys for motorists.
"The upgrade involves shoulder widening, reshaping the road, tree clearing, drainage works, a clear zone, and installing safety barriers to provide a safer and more forgiving road environment for motorists," he said.
"The NSW Government has partnered with the Mid-Western Regional Council to deliver this project that will ultimately improve safety to ensure those who set off on a journey return home safely."
Works on the section of road will commence on Monday, October 19, and is expected to be completed in January next year.
Work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm from Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays, weather permitting.
