Investigations into the crossing commenced in April 2019 with the Federal Government having committed grant funding for the project.
In consultation with various stakeholders, an assessment of the options for the proposed bridge crossing and road upgrades has been completed.
Four options were proposed as part of the Feasibility Study with consideration to cost, constructability, flood immunity, and environmental and community impacts.
A preferred option has been selected 1.5km north of the current four wheel drive crossing due to reduced bridge length.
Council's General Manager Brad Cam said plans of the proposed bridge location can be found on YourSay Mid-Western and encouraged residents to share their thoughts.
"Input will be considered as part the project development," Mr Cam said.
The opportunity for feedback will close on November 30.
