The carnival has been capped at 200 competitors to stay within the NSW Health COVID guidelines, and despite the restrictions, the carnival has attracted record numbers.
"Our carnival had to close to entries early as we reached our limit faster than we anticipated. We, the committee, were thrilled at the response we had, this will be the biggest carnival Mudgee Indoor has hosted in a number of years," Mudgee Indoor Swim Club president, Erin Constable said.
Mudgee Indoor Swim Club will be represented by 35 of its members, comprising of junior swimmers and senior squad members.
A range of competitors from the western area and other surrounding areas will be in attendance.
"We have some quality swimmers who have entered the meet and we're excited that the members of our club will get the opportunity to race against them," Constable said.
Mudgee Indoor expect strong competition throughout the day with cash prizes and medals to be awarded.
"Many of the swimmers from all over are competing for qualifying times for Country and state age championship events which will be held at the Homebush Aquatic Centre later in the season," Constable said.
"Mudgee Indoor would like to thank Mid Western Regional Council and its many sponsors for this year's event. Without them on board our carnival wouldn't be going ahead."
