Kandos branch of Country Women's Association NSW has recently been awarded with a grant of over $14,000 from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal News Corp Bush Fire Fund for the purchase of a large inflatable outdoor cinema package.

Kandos CWA President, Lee-Ann Geary, says this is an exciting new venture for the town as it can host outdoor movie nights for locals and tourists, even during COVID restrictions.
"It should help build on what is already a strong community spirit in our region and bring people together," Lee-Ann said.
Kandos and its neighbouring town of Rylstone have been through a challenging period, having been heavily impacted by drought then followed by three major bushfires in their region earlier in the year.
The outdoor cinema will also be made available to other community groups to assist in community fund raising.
Kandos CWA has a strong track record in managing projects, including installing a commercial kitchen in its building in Jaques Street, Kandos, for the use of locals wishing to run complying small food businesses.
The rooms are also leased to many community groups for their meetings.
Kandos CWA will be hard at work over the next few months planning the launch of this exciting new community venture for the region.
The group meet on the last Wednesday of each month at 5pm at their building in Jaques Street, Kandos.
