Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) has welcomed back Dr Nebras Yahya to the Gulgong Multipurpose Service (MPS) as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO).

WNSWLHD Rural Health Director of Medical Services, Dr Shannon Nott, said "Dr Yahya will be working at the Gulgong MPS from Wednesday, November 18".
"This will provide the Gulgong community with confidence knowing a local doctor will be working at the MPS. Dr Yahya is currently a GP in the Gulgong community and will have VMO rights at the Gulgong MPS, looking after emergency patients and aged care residents.
Both the Health District and I want to provide the best care for the Gulgong community.

"Dr Yahya is an experienced GP VMO and we look forward to our successful working relationship continuing". Dr Nott said.
Dr Yahya said, "I am looking forward to working with the staff at the Gulgong MPS to look after the Gulgong community".
"Both the Health District and I want to provide the best care for the Gulgong community and this is what we will do," Dr Yahya said.

The WNSWLHD has also committed to continue discussions with Dr Yahya about the best way to recruit more doctors to Gulgong and the wider District.
Dr Yahya will work be rostered to ensure patient safety as well has his own well-being. This will include having him available emergency calls and the MPS will be also be supported by a variety of virtual services to help manage doctor fatigue and provide professional support when required.
The WNSWLHD will continue to work with the Commonwealth Government's Primary Healthcare Network, Council and other local organisations to develop opportunities to attract more general practice services to Gulgong.
