The recreation room became a possibility thanks to a $6,855 grant under the Australian Government's National Shed Development Program.
The Men's Shed members have installed windows, doors, cladding and roof cover for improved insulation in their 40 foot shipping container.
Federal Member for Calare, and Minister for Decentralisation and Regional Education, Andrew Gee said the new room would not have been able to be completed if not for the work conducted by the members.
"John Medcalf and the members of the Kandos Rylstone Men's Shed have been working hard, putting their $6,855 grant to good use by converting a 40 foot shipping container into a new recreation area with a sitting room, office and TV," he said.
"There is nothing these blokes can't do. The new recreation room is built to last - it could even outlive the pyramids.
"I've seen firsthand the strength and importance of the Men's Shed network and I hope this new recreation area allows Kandos Rylstone Men's Shed to expand and continue their important work."
Commencing in 2010, the Australian Government's National Men's Shed Development Programme was established with a goal to improve the health and well-being of shed members.
