In what these days may be considered an unsurprising result, four Mudgee pennants grades each claimed convincing wins over their Forbes and Cowra counterparts at the Central West District Golf Association's pennants series semi-finals on March 14.

Heading into the division one quest against Forbes, the Mudgee side were met with the pressure of claiming their fifth consecutive title in six years looming over their shoulders.
But, it's a pressure they overcame to defeat Forbes in 'an easy' win, 5-0, securing the title for another year.
Due to division one and four being played as a 'first past the post', the Mudgee top grade will head to Cowra to play out the remainder of the season.
"Everyone is ecstatic, we hadn't won one for 109 years and now we've won five of the last six and we've still got a week to go, we've pretty well put it to bed already," Mudgee division one player, Mark Hale said.
"We all play each other once and whoever is on top at the end wins. We've played well so we can't be beat with a week to go, we haven't lost yet.
"We're keen to have another win for the season so that'll be good."
The local division two side were also heading in undefeated against Forbes and managed to extend their streak, coming out on top with a 3-2 result to book their grand final ticket to play Wellington in Cowra this weekend.
Division three will join the other Mudgee sides in the grand finals after shaming Cowra with a 4-1 victory, with their sights now set on outdoing Duntryleague.
"Division two and three have been playing well so hopefully they'll win," Hale said.
Despite claiming a 4-1 result over Forbes, the division four side will miss out on the finals.
"Dubbo hasn't been beat, they're miles in front. They've [division four] struggled hard all year but they've had a lot of close games as well, they're a bit unlucky to not be in the final contention this Sunday," Hale said.
"To have three teams out of four divisions in the finals is pretty impressive for a little club like us. Bathurst, Dubbo and Duntry are fairly big, and we're smaller so it's good to see us getting these results.
"We'll have a bus trip out there and hopefully celebrate with the other boys on the way back."
As for the unofficial father and son battle, Mudgee's Mark and James Hale did their town proud, with James beating Jeff Betland 3-2 for his second straight win, while Mark topped Steve Betland 2-1 giving the Mudgee lads a 2-0 victory in father son challenges.
The grand finals will be held on March 21 at Cowra.
