The accident involved a 71 year-old driver and a 82 year-old passenger who were travelling along Mortimer St when their car crashed into the gutter, clipped a tree and then crashed into a telegraph pole.
At 8:25am emergency services were called to the scene of a single vehicle accident in the Mudgee township.
The driver suffered neck and back pain, while the passenger suffered an ankle fracture and possible rib injuries, both were airlifted to Orange Base Hospital and are now in a stable condition.
Diversions were temporarily in place before the car was towed away.
The cause of the accident is still unknown and police are appealing for any witnesses who saw the Toyota Rav4 travelling along Mortimer St yesterday morning.
