During their meet and greet with Manly Warringah Sea Eagles die-hard fans on April 16 at Glen Willow, Brad Parker and Toafofoa Sipley gave an insight into what their thoughts are on the region.
24-year-old Parker said not only is the trip out to Mudgee an opportunity to bring the game to the country, but a chance for him to catch up with relatives who live in the area.
"My uncle and aunty live in Mudgee, my cousins grew up out here," he said.
"It's nice because it gives me an opportunity to see my family because I've got some in Bathurst, Grenfell, and all around the joint.
"I would love to do something like this every year, if we could make this an annual trip it would be unreal."
As for Manly prop, Sipley, the trip to Mudgee has been full of surprises including the unexpected reminder of home.
"This is my first time in Mudgee and experiencing the countryside of Australia. I'm a kiwi boy, I'm a city boy over there and I guess you would call Sydney a city too, I've really enjoyed it out here," Sipley said.
"It's a lot colder than I thought, it reminds me of home."
Sipley joined Parker in his thoughts on returning to Mudgee, or at least the Central West, saying "I'd love to come back, I kind of like these games where you just get out and go into camp with the boys, it just brings us together better as a team."
The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will take on the Gold Coast Titans at Glen Willow Stadium on April 17 with a 3pm kick-off.
