Sydney based pop artist merci, mercy revealed to the Mudgee Guardian that the May festival will be the first she's ever played, and is likely to be a moment in time she will never forget.
"I'm really excited to be a part of this. This will be the first festival I'm ever playing, it's literally a dream come true," she said.
"It's so special. I would go to festivals when I was younger and think 'that's what I want to do for the rest of my life' so I definitely won't forget this moment."
Not only is the festival a first for merci, mercy but her trip to Mudgee will also be new, and while there will be many in attendance to see her live, she however looks forward to getting the chance to potentially meet Ocean Alley.
"I've never been to Mudgee actually but I think it's going to be a really fun time," she said.
"The line up is so cool. I watched Ocean Alley at the first festival I ever went to. I'm pretty shy so hopefully I'll get to say hi to them."
For those wondering what you can expect from her set, it will be 45 minutes of fresh, new tunes sure to put out some serious vibes.
"I'm going to be playing a lot of new songs that aren't out yet, it'll be nice to see how the crowd reacts to my new material," she said.
"It just happened that I would perform new songs during Next Exit, I only have one EP out and I've done a few shows before so I needed more than just 20 minutes of songs. So far, we've been practicing for a 45 minute set.
"If you haven't seen live music in a while or you're doing in the dumps, seeing some amazing Aussie bands will definitely cheer you up."
The Next Exit Festival will be held at the Mudgee Showground on Saturday, May 29, 2021.
Bands in the lineup include merci, mercy, CLEWS, Ocean Alley, Spacey Jane, and Dear Seattle.
