Robertson Park Farmers Markets
Council voted to increase the number of markets that Mudgee Fine Foods can hold at Robertson Park from 16 to 24 times each year.
Mudgee Fine Foods acting president Michael Sweeney made the request after reporting a substantial increase in visitation numbers.
Mid-Western Regional Council general manager Brad Cam noted that Council should consider the impact the decision could have on other markets in Mudgee.
"There are markets held at the Anglican Church and Lawson Park once a month and an increase in the number of markets may well see conflicts emerge with these markets if they are held on the same day."
Council received advice from Mudgee Fine Foods that the increase would not cause an issue, however Councillors agreed it would be best to seek consultation and feedback from the other markets prior to making any changes.
Goodiman Creek Bridge
The Goodiman Creek Bridge on Spring Ridge Road has suffered years of degradation and was assessed by Council to be in poor condition overall.
Council has been successful in obtaining $1.2 million dollars of NSW State Government funding to replace the timber and steel composite bridge.
The Goodiman Creek timber bridge number 18 on Spring Ridge Rd was built in 1954, in the rural area north of Gulgong.
Mudgee Showground funding
The Mudgee Show Society was successful in its grant application for funding from the NSW State Government.
Council accepted the $47,360 dollars of grant funding to construct rodeo chutes and portable cattle yards, through the Crown Reserve Improvement Fund.
These items were identified as critical infrastructure to support the continual growth of major events at the Showgrounds.
Lifting of water restrictions
Council has unanimously voted in favour of lifting water restrictions for the townships of Gulgong and Mudgee.
