Craig Henry Rumsby, who appeared via AVL to Mudgee Local Court on July 7, had his case adjourned to appear in the Supreme Court on October 2, 2021.
On August 11, 2020, the then 53-year-old was charged with murder, two counts of inflict actual bodily harm with intent to have sexual intercourse with victim and attempt choke/strangle with intent to commit indictable offence.
Michelle Bright, then aged 17, was last seen alive on February 27, 1999 when a friend dropped her off at Herbert Street in Gulgong, after a birthday party.
Three days later, her body was located in long grass by the side of Barneys Reef Road.
Bail for the accused was formally refused.
