A lack of games played is not the only hurdle the top-tier side have had to endure this season, but for the past few weeks, training has also been limited due to field closures.
Nevertheless, the Mudgee troupes are keen to return and boost their position on the ladder.
"Our premier division hasn't played in four weeks now so everyone's raring to go", Mudgee Dragons club president, Sebastian Flack said.
"It's been hard to train due to all of the fields being closed because of rain but we've done what we can on the weekends.
"Jack Littlejohn will be back. The four weeks has given him some time to recover from an ankle injury.
"It'll be good to blow a few cobwebs out and get back to playing some consistent footy."
The Dragons, who currently occupy third position on the ladder, have their sights firmly set on taking this year's premiership, with a home ground grand final desired.
"We're hoping to get into first or second because we want to host a home grand final," Flack said.
"We've beaten them [Panthers and CYMS who sit first and second on the ladder] previously this year but we had a couple of points taken off us at the start of the year, and we dropped a couple of games through availabilities and injuries.
"The players just want to win the comp, they don't care where it's done but that's the goal of our committee, to host it at home...it's on our minds."
The round 12 fixture doubles as 'Ladies Day' which celebrates all of the women associated with the club.
"It's good to celebrate the women in our game," Flack said.
"We always have a Ladies Day each year to celebrate them - the wives, partners and volunteers."
All five grades will be in action on July 17 at Glen Willow Stadium with under 18s league tag at 9:30am, open's league tag at 10:30am, under 18s at 12pm, reserve grade at 1:30pm, and first grade at 3:20pm.
Those attending are reminded to adhere to all COVID-19 directions, including scanning the QR Code upon entry and exit, wearing a mask at all times (unless playing) and maintaining social distancing.
