Following the discovery of levels of COVID-19 detected in Mudgee's Sewage Treatment Plant, drive-through testing operations at the Australian Rural Education Centre (AREC) will be in place for the remainder of the week.

Over 300 tests were conducted in Mudgee on August 9, with more than 2,100 tests taken in Mudgee and Dubbo, respectively, on Saturday, August 7.
COVID-19 virus fragments were detected in samples taken from the Mudgee Sewage Treatment Plant on Monday, August 2 and Wednesday, August 4.
Additional samples were collected from the facility on Monday, August 9 with the results expected to be received within 24 hours, at the time of publication.
At the present time, there have been no new cases of COVID-19 in the Western local health district.
The drive-through testing at AREC will be available from 10am to 3pm until Friday, August 13.

- fever
- dry cough

- chest pain or pressure
- loss of speech or movement
