Off the back of defeating CSU, 36-19, for the first time in the 2021 season, the Wombats women will march into the final dance against Narromine with their heads held high.
Speaking before the Dubbo lockdown announcement, Batties captain, Helen Blackmore said her squad "have worked hard all year" and deserve the title should they be able to knock down one of the strongest teams in the competition.
"We deserve to win," she said.
"Narromine are notorious for being tough which we are aware of so we can't take this game lightly. Grand finals always bring out extra strengths, everyone digs a little deeper.
"The girls have been working hard and coach, Jason Brown, has been doing a great job preparing us and keeping us focused on our jobs going into the final series."
Not only would a win be a nod to the squad's efforts, but the ladies also hope to bring it home for the entire Mudgee region rugby community.
"Winning the grand final would mean so much to the girls. All the training and effort we have put in not just this season, but for the past six years would pay off," she said.
It would mean so much for us to bring home the trophy especially for the girls who got injured towards the end of the season and are unable to play.

"I have faith in my team."
Blackmore, who has been one of the squad's MVPs since joining in 2017, said she is honoured to be leading the girls into the final dance.
"This will be the women's third grand final in the six years we've been a part of the Central West competition," she said.
"Unfortunately we haven't walked away with a grand final win but hopefully we can change that next weekend.
"I am honoured to be leading a team of highly motivated girls. I'm confident I can lead the girls into the ultimate challenge."
The Mudgee Wombats women will take on the Narromine Gorillas on Saturday, August 21 at Parkes with a 12pm kick-off.
