As the individuals who make a difference in the lives of many, their work, dedication and achievements were at the forefront on the day, leaving students and colleagues to appreciate their efforts.
"World Teachers' Day provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our teachers, thank them for their hard work and acknowledge the important role they play in the lives of our students and their families," St Matthews Catholic School principal, Angela Myers said.
"Today, in particular, we take a moment to say thank you to our teachers. Thank you for continuing to work tirelessly to ensure the bright future of our children."
"I have the privilege to work with the most dedicated and passionate group of staff at Lue Public School. Every one of them goes above and beyond every single day to ensure the students in our care have the very best in education and support. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart," Lue Public School principal, Caron McDonald said.
"Teaching is something you really have to love to do well. I'm so grateful to teach at a school where my colleagues truly love what they do and bring joy and enthusiasm to their classrooms every day," Rylstone Public School principal, Jodee Burcher said.
This past year brought on a set of unexplored challenges for the region's teachers, who were required to adapt seamlessly in lockdown to continue to provide top-tier lessons for their students.
"Teachers have been adaptive and innovative during the COVID pandemic this year and showed how valuable they are to the lives of both students and the community," Gulgong Public School principal, David Lewis said.
"At Gulgong Public School, we are lucky to have teachers that focus on learning and wellbeing, and know, value and care for every student that attends our school."
"Mudgee High's teachers, along with colleagues the world over, have worked hard to support the students in their care with remote learning. In that same space, they have supported quite a few parents and carers too," Mudgee High School principal, Wayne Eade said.
"Kandos High School's academic achievements with outstanding results in NAPLAN Literacy and Numeracy, our sporting achievements with many representative teams, and our extra-curricular studies and excursions would not be possible without the dedication of our wonderful teachers," Kandos High School administration officer, Dayna Murphy said.
School is not only a place where local students prosper, but also where teachers develop "lasting memories".
"Each day the children bring us so much joy and excitement of seeing school through their eyes," Mudgee Public School principal, John Carters said.
"The daily smiles, laughs and constant excitement for school keep us coming back each and every day to make lasting memories."
"Happy World Teachers' Day to all the teachers out there," Mr Lewis added.
All schools in the Mid-Western area were contacted for comment.
