LEADERS: (Women): Teenage gun Rachel Lee shares the first-round lead at six-under 67, with South Korea's Jenny Shin. Jiyai Shin (68) trails by one, with South Africa's Ashleigh Buhai and local Steph Kyriacou tied fourth.
PLAYER OF THE ROUND: If you reckoned a Lee would be leading after day one, chances are you would have got short odds on it being Min Woo or his sister Minjee. But 16-year-old year 10 student Rachel Lee - no relation - stole their thunder. Registering eight birdies and showing stroke play beyond her years, the Sydney teenager finished six-under.
SHOT OF THE ROUND: Ayaka Sugihara's hole-in-one on the 11th at The Australian. The Japanese struck her 7-iron with inch-perfect precision on the 144-metre par three.
