I am a third year journalism student at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst and I’ve just completed all university classes forever and I will be graduating this December.
It’s all very exciting, and to top it off I’ll be here in Mudgee over the next two weeks helping create your latest local news.
I’ve chosen Mudgee to carry out my work experience as I enjoy spending my time in regional areas and country towns rather than that busy city life.
I’ve developed a special spot for country life in my heart and because of this I want to be able to write stories and talk about issues that affect people in rural and regional areas.
In other news:
The problems that are important to you are worth talking about, so if you have anything you want to voice feel free to come and have a chat with me.
I’m definitely someone who loves to have a good ol’ yarn and always keen on meeting new people.
I’m from a place you might know for being freezing cold, and that my friends would be called Lithgow.
Originally, I was born in Sydney but my parents decided to make the big move to the one and only gateway to the Central West.
Despite the cold, I could not be more thankful for their decision because I’ve been able to grow up in a close-knit community surrounded by supportive people and that’s something I’ll always treasure.
I made the choice to study journalism when I graduated high school back in 2015, I’ve always been good at writing and I love the country life so in some ways I guess you can say I’ve combined the two together.
When I’m not busy with uni assignments and interning, I like to spend my time playing football [as in soccer], eating food [because let’s be honest who doesn’t] and the occasional glass of moscato.
Once I complete my degree I’m hoping to become an agricultural journalist in a regional area and Mudgee is looking quite perfect to me.
I love the friendliness that Mudgee has to offer, the stunning views and of course the wonderful wine! [Okay, I’m starting to sound like a bit of an alcoholic now]
I hope to meet many new people during my time here at the Guardian and I’m sure I’ll be going on a few coffee runs.
So please don’t be shy, be sure to come and say hi if you see me out and about.
