Not only did they compete against people from Dubbo, but also against people all across NSW.
Hannah McDonald, MC of the day says the GPC sanctioned event was a push pull competition, with central west competitors showing no shortage of talent.
Some of the best lifters come out of the central west so there was over 10 national records broken on the day. There is a lot of talent coming from this area.

“We were actually going up against everyone else in the state, so we get a state position as well.”
Local competitor, Dylan McDonald had some of the heaviest lifts of the day, and was placed up against National and World Record holders.
McDonald successfully placed fourth in the Dubbo title and 14th in Australia.
“He placed quite well, and when we looked at his score with everyone else in NSW, he ranked quite highly,” Hannah said.
Other local success stories include Cooper Hinton, 11, and Tammy Mangan, 33.
He [Hinton] was one of the best lifters in his weight division.

The next competition of its kind will take place on March, 30 and 31, 2019 where competitors will aim at qualifying for nationals.
