Oak Tree Retirement Village have launched their new community village in Mudgee, hoping to bring quality living for those looking to downsize.
The Mudgee Guardian took a special tour through the Oak Tree villa ahead of the launch, which you can see below.
The launch, which was attended by Mid-Western Regional Mayor, Des Kennedy was held at the Oak Tree site on Meramie Street in Caerleon Estate, on Thursday, January 31.
"I thank Oak Tree for coming to our region, the building project over the last 8-10 months has been going gangbusters and they've really vigilant in employing local tradesmen,” Des said.
“So the town has had a good spin-off from the construction."

The 64 unit village is offered to people over the age of 55 or older who are living independently.
Each villa is built as a duplex setup comprising of two or three bedrooms, accompanied by two toilets with a large sized garage positioned to separate neighbours.
In addition to the housing components, a community centre will be on site that will host a gym, hairdressing salon, library corner, TV corner, computer corner, as well as an area for functions, a pool, a bowling green, and two outdoor entertaining sections.

The reasoning for building a residential area like Oak Tree Village follows the rising need for independent housing in the region amid a rising aged population.
Not only that, but for people that feel like the home they’re currently living in is too large for them and see the need to downsize.
The first residents will move in from early April.
