Team nominations have since closed with a total of 52 teams registered from eight years through to division one, and are also running a Net Set Go program for children aged five to nine years.
However, individual registrations remain open.
There have been some changes to the committee this year with Kylie Marshall stepping in as club president as well as some other new faces said to bring “fresh ideas” to the club.
Our Net Set Go program is awesome and develops skills needed prior to competing in the competition the following year.
- Mudgee District Netball publicity officer Tash Smith
“The competition will run fairly similar to previous years in terms of structure and times,” Smith said.
Mudgee Netball representative teams have been training since the start of the year with the rest of the winter teams set to commence their training in the next few weeks ahead of the competition which is due to start on April 6.
Smith encourages anyone considering playing netball to sign up regardless of experience or ability as the Mudgee club have teams of a variety of ranges.
“I would encourage anyone who is remotely interested in netball to give it a go,” she said.
“Mudgee District Netball winter competition suits all ranges of players.
“We have divisions ranging from one, being the most competitive, to four, the less competitive.”
We can accommodate those players who are wanting to play for fun and fitness but also those who have more of a competition nature.
Mudgee Netball are also seeking eight year olds who are wanting to play for a starlets team in the 8s competition.
