While it was only her second start, Feverish fired to the finish line in an impressive display of racing on October 26 at Mudgee Racecourse for the 2019 Cox Plate race meet.
The Gayna Williams-trained three-year-old bay filly was up against fellow local runner, Marada (Brett Thompson) in the Asquith Bowling Club F&M Maiden Plate (1100 metres), and while there was some competition towards the end, Feverish stormed through to take the victory by three and a half lengths.
"She jumped out pretty good, she was a little bit green early. We found the lead pretty easy, and she had the fence to travel along," jockey, Ken Dunbar said.
"She worked pretty easy right up to the straight then she more or less only had to find up the straight but she found well. She did have a couple of challenges but she fought them off pretty well.
"Everything went more or less to plan. We wanted to go forward and find the fence because she's a little bit green, but it all went well."
Dunbar says Feverish is likely in for a successful career once she matures and gets into the groove of racing.
She's done what a lot haven't for a while and that is win a race, she's well on the way.

"She's only young and pretty immature but it looks like she could develop into something that will be quite alright.
"She might have a holiday now and will likely come back better and stronger."
Feverish came first to five-year-old mare Twice The Value (Peter W Stanley) who came second with Ashleigh Stanley in the saddle, three-year-old Magic Talent (Mitchell and Desiree Kearney) who ran third with Zoe Connally, and Brett Thompson's four-year-old mare Marada who came in fourth with Ashley Morgan.
