Midwest won the toss and elected to bat and were in massive trouble early on, slumping to six for 53.
Damian Doherty and Gaurav Sharma steadied things and built a 46 run partnership before Doherty was dismissed for 47.
Sharma then went about building steady partnerships with the tail with the highlight being a 54 run last wicket stand with his younger brother Shubhum Sharma pushing the Midwest total to a healthy 177 off 46.4 overs and Gaurav finishing on 50 not out.
It was a similar tale for the Parkes innings with early wickets falling as they found themselves at six for 49.
A 39 run partnership between D Wilson and B Smith put them back on track but the Parkes tail faltered and were all out for 135. B Smith top scored for Parkes with 36.
Bowling for Midwest the wickets were shared around with Brian O'Reilly taking three for 15 off 6.2 overs and Ashley Honeysett, Lochie Endacott and Gaurav Sharma each taking two wickets.
The shock result finds Midwest in third position on the Premier League table, but with two hard matches to come in the new year against Bathurst in Mudgee and then away against Orange, no one is getting too carried away.
Meanwhile, in round eight of Midwest first grade competition, the Centennial Vikings (4-178) defeated Bowlers Bullets (94).
Brad Mitchell (79*) and Graham Unicomb (58) top scored for the Vikings, while Cal Rumming (50*) and Tom James (14) ran the most for the Bullets.
The Goolma Polar Bears won their clash against the Mudgee Tiges by forfiet, while the Coolah Hurricanes had the bye.
