The accident occurred just before 8am on Friday with a rescue helicopter on route to the crash scene which is at Tallawang.
Live Traffic reports that traffic has been affected in both directions and motorists urged reduce their speed and drive with caution.
At this stage the Mudgee Guardian believes the crash involves only one car.
