Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders congratulated owner Cameron D'Arcy and his team on the outstanding achievement, and acknowledged their invaluable service to the region.
"It's fantastic to see Sierra Escape win an Australian Tourism Award in recognition of their hard work and commitment to visitors who flock to the Mudgee region. They take glamping to a new level and provide something different to the accommodation market," Mr Saunders said.
"There was strong competition across a number of categories, and it was wonderful to see so many NSW tourism operators recognised for their contribution to the tourism economy, and for shining a light on our state and region."
The awards acknowledge tourism businesses that demonstrate outstanding achievement and drive visitation for their region, in turn generating visitor spend for the local economy.
Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney, Stuart Ayres, said NSW's tourism industry was the backbone of many regional communities.
"Tourism plays such an important social and economic role for the state thanks to the brilliant, innovative and dedicated industry champions," Minister Ayres said.
"Now's the time for us all to love NSW and show our support for these businesses and individuals who make our state a top holiday destination.
"NSW is rich in experiences, stunning natural landscapes and unique culture from bush to beach and city to outback.
"But it's the exceptional service of our tourism industry that gives visitors the best part of any holiday - that personal touch that comes with meeting locals, hearing their stories and seeing the region through their eyes."
