The grant was awarded to the Cudgegong Cruisers under Round 5 of the Federal Government's Stronger Communities Programme and has been put towards the installation of air-conditioning in the Cruisers' club room at the Mudgee Showground.
Federal Member for Calare, Andrew Gee, inspected the newly installed air-conditioning at the recent Mudgee Show.
"The Cudgegong Cruisers do an incredible amount of work for our local community. They fundraise for local charities and their events bring motor enthusiasts from stations near and far to the Mudgee area," Mr Gee said.
"I'm delighted to see this funding go to such a worthy community organisation. I just love their work.
"Summers in our region can be scorching and the new air-conditioners have already been given a workout by the Cruisers. They will make their headquarters more comfortable and usable on a year-round basis.
"Although this year's Can Cruise has been cancelled, you won't hold the Cruisers back. The Cruise will certainly return, and the Cruisers' headquarters will continue to evolve as a key community hub."
Round 5 of the Federal Government's Stronger Communities Programme provided grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital works projects delivered by community groups and local government organisations.
Total funding for the Stronger Communities Programme has exceeded $110,000,000, nationally, since it commenced in 2015.
