Elderly man found dead in Central West home; 31 year old facing murder charge

Officers from Central West Police District were called to the home on Best Street, Parkes, about 4pm on Wednesday due to concerns for welfare of the resident.
Police found the body of the 74-year-old man inside the home and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, a 31-year-old man was arrested at a neighbouring house in Best Street about 11pm.
He was taken to Parkes police station where he was charged with one count of murder.
The man has been refused bail to appear in Dubbo Local Court today, via video link.
