Secretary Manager of the club said, "the Bowling and Sporting Club is a not for profit organisation and very community aware and realise the benefit of the Henry Lawson Centre to the town".
"By making our donation public we hope that other businesses in town will realise how much they benefit from the tourism brought to the town by the Henry Lawson Centre and they will also assist with the maintenance of this wonderful old building," she said.
A recent story on Channel 9 highlighted the need for funding for maintenance of the centre, especially wiring, roof and outside painting of this historic building that houses priceless memorabilia of Henry Lawson, one of Australia's most popular and well known poets and storytellers.

Things were just starting to pick up again in early March when in mid-March the state went into lockdown because of COVID-19. It was not until July that the Museums were able to re-open and the tourists again flocked to the town.
