Mayor Des Kennedy said it takes a few minutes to nominate a friend, family member or colleague who volunteers, is involved in sport or the arts, or has significantly contributed to their community.
"2020 has been such a tough year for everyone and I have no doubt there are countless members of our community who have gone over and above for others whether that was during the drought, summer bushfires or COVID-19," Cr Kennedy said.
"If you've notice the service of someone this year, why not consider taking just a few moments to nominate them and shine a light on their achievements."
The 2020 Citizen of the Year, Jan Pirie, was recognised for her volunteer work with Can Assist, supporting people diagnosed with cancer and their families.
