From the get go, all involved in the refurbished club were aware of the quality of rugby league they played host to and didn't shy away from putting it to work against a plethora fierce competition in the Western Women's Rugby League realm.
Just days out from their final home game of the season, Brumbies president and opens coach Guy Pascoe says this year's success wouldn't have been what it is without the ongoing support from the community and the dedicated committee members.
"As a club, our inaugural year has been a huge success. We have a small but hard working committee and a core group of parents and senior players that help make things happen," he said.
"The biggest challenge was establishing our branding and we've been lucky enough to have businesses throughout the local area really get behind us by way of sponsorship which in itself says a lot about the community and the way they've embraced their new club.
"The name change was a huge step towards unifying the club as a whole which has hit the mark tremendously. We have a large contingency of players making several trips weekly from Gulgong and Kandos, Rylstone, it's not just about Mudgee."
The club's final dance against the Castlereagh Cougars on home turf will be hosted at Gulgong's Billy Dunn Oval, a testament to what the Brumbies are all about - unity across the Mid-Western Region.
"It was decided to take our last home game to Gulgong to further promote the women's game throughout the region and to give the Gulgong girls an opportunity to play in front of all their family and friends. We will look to do something similar next season for the Kandos, Rylstone district," Pascoe said.
"Significant highlights this year has been the growth in numbers for all grades. At times last year we struggled to get teams on the park through lack of numbers but this year all grades recorded numbers of around 20 players registered for each side.
"This in turn has seen the formation of an extra team with an under 13s development squad which isn't competition based but more so an education and opportunity for interested players to learn the game."
Off the back of a challenging weekend against the Panorama Platypi, Pascoe says the Brumbies look to potentially have two out of four side's progressing 'deep' into the finals while the remaining two will undoubtedly give entertaining performances.
"The under 14s side, who are the reigning premiers, and this year are undefeated heading into the last round this weekend are a real chance and also our under 18s team who, if they win this week, will get a crack at the more fancied teams in the finals series," Pascoe said.
"All grades are pumped to put in a good performance in front of the passionate Gulgong crowd this weekend. Cougars are quite strong right across the board particularly their under 16s team who are undefeated thus far.
"It's as close as you'll get to a local derby so it should be an entertaining day of football."
Round five of the Western Women's Rugby League competition will see the Midwest Brumbies go head-to-head with the Castlereagh Cougars on November 7 at Billy Dunn Oval with first kick-off at 10am.
