To understand individuals' experiences and to improve recovery processes, Council is hosting two community forums on November 20 and 22. These will be facilitated Anne Leadbeater OAM, survivor of the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires and disaster recovery expert.
"We understand there are many learnings to come from the Black Summer Bushfire recovery efforts and this is a real opportunity for those impacted to give their feedback directly to help improve recovery efforts in preparation for future disasters," Council's general manager, Brad Cam, said.

"Council is mindful of limited internet coverage in the affected communities of Olinda and Running Stream which is why these sessions are being hosted at Rylstone Memorial Hall by a highly experienced and skilled facilitator in Anne Leadbeater. Participants also have the option to watch and take part via Zoom."
The first Bushfire Community Forum will be held on Friday, November 20, 6-8pm and Sunday, November 22, 10am-12pm. Each forum will be held at the Rylstone Memorial Hall, Louee Street, Rylstone.
Residents have the option to attend in-person or via Zoom, bookings are however essential due to limited capacity based on COVID-19 restrictions.
