After defeating Narromine two weeks ago, the Mudgee Wombats second grade men are ready and waiting for their New Holland Cup grand final derby against Dubbo.

The Batties were prepared to have their grand final dance this Saturday but due to the Dubbo lockdown, the game has been postponned to a week later.
Speaking before the lockdown announcement, Mudgee Wombats second grade coaching coordinator John Carters said while Mudgee have previously beaten the Rhinos on two occasions this season, Dubbo will give the boys a 'run for their money'.
"We were the minor premiers this year and we're glad to have converted that into an opportunity to be in a grand final," Carters said.
"It's going to be a big game. Dubbo have been a side who have challenged us the most.
"We had a good win against them at the start of the year and another very good one back in Mudgee, but the last time we played them in Dubbo, they beat us.
"If there's any side we believe will give us a run for our money, it's the Rhinos."
With 31 players to choose from, the red and navy contingent look to be in fine form, and Carters believed this to allow for depth in the squad.
"Having 31 people available for selections this week made it really hard for the coaching staff but we've got a good side named," he said.
"There's a lot of depth in the squad so I'm sure everyone will do a really good job."
Much like their female counterparts, the second grade men are hoping to bring home the bacon for Mudgee's rugby community.
"Second grade has been on the cusp of this a few times," Carters said.
"To be able to do it would be wonderful for those around the second grade side for the last few years who have been getting really close to this.
"If we were able to win this title, it would give a lot of confidence to the whole club and really start setting the first grade and second grade up for a really good 2022 as well.
"We're really looking forward to getting out there and hopefully we make the Wombats and Mudgee proud."
The Mudgee Wombats will take on the Dubbo Rhinos on Saturday, August 21 at Parkes.
