In a nearly flawless display of bowls, the 26 years young co green keeper of the Mudgee club went from new cub to leader of the pack in very short time.
Steve previously lived in Molong where he reached the singles final on two occasions but was unable to win a title.
Since moving to Mudgee 12 months ago, he has had previous successes with wins in tournaments and club events however, this is his first singles title.

Steve's opponent, Danny Baskerville, has been a club single champion himself in previous years and with his years of experience and calm demeanor was a worthy challenger but could not find a way to slow the juggernaut of Steve Shannon, losing the game by 31 shots to 14.

Meanwhile, in the pennants, the 3s and 7s are dead in the water in their respective competitions, the Mudgee 6s are still alive and in with a big chance of playing in the zone area finals.
This week the 6s take on their main rivals, Portland in Mudgee on Saturday morning.
Finally, the annual Easter Pairs tournament is fast approaching.
