The Kandos High School student took part in the annual leadership program "so I could be a better me", however she'll also like to do something that protects and improves the environment as well.
"My community service project is about a recycling competition to make recycling fun," she said.
"Contestants will be working on recycling projects for a week at home and on the last day the contestants will show off what they made and have the chance to win prizes.
"There will be different categories for different recycling projects such as making art, machines, music instruments and costumes out of rubbish. This project includes everyone, and any age can enter.
"Thank you Club Mudgee Max Potential Mudgee/Kandos-Rylstone/Gulgong, Mudgee Guardian, and KRR Kandos."
- The week of Emma's recycling competition will be from Friday, July 12, and will culminate in the showcase at Lawson Park, from 9am to 4pm on Friday, July 19. All are welcome to attend. For more information email emma.wisser@education.nsw.gov.au
